The Washington Old Dominion Railroad trail has over 45 miles of trail for joggers, walkers and bikers to get out and enjoy the old rail line.
A day at the mall can always help one's attitude, and Leesburg has the advantage of a Premium Outlet Mall in its city limits. With such stores as Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn to spiff up your Leesburg apartments, and over 60 designer clothes stores plus shoes and accessory stores, you could spend all day here. April hosts the Flower and Garden Festival held in the Historic District with garden vendors, food and entertainment. The Fourth of July Event is a well-attended function with a parade in the morning, a festival during the day at Ida Lee Park and evening fireworks. The August Court and Market Days recognize the historical significance of the town and are held in the Historic District. The longest running Halloween Parade east of the Mississippi involves local bands and floats made by businesses, families and independent organizations.
